My oldest turned 10 a few weeks ago. TEN. A full decade. I’m not gonna lie. I cried that morning. You know how people say to enjoy it, because it goes so quickly? Yup, that really is true. But let’s be real here. It’s not easy to enjoy it all the time. There are routines and tantrums and schedules and now: Attitudes and eye rolling.
The growing he’s done over the last year seems like a lot. He’s slowly transitioning from little kid to big kid. Which makes a lot of things more fun and much easier! Family outings, traveling, adventures. They’re so great right now. At the same time, he’s still snuggly and loves family hugs and cuddle time and wants to live with us forever. It’s kind of the perfect age. Minus the eye rolling…
He was like a tween during this year’s interview. Lots of smirks and his answers feel less little kid to me even though he’s still very innocent among his peers. He complained recently that I am “so annoying” by not letting him watch as many movies as his friends. HA! Just wait, kid… you haven’t seen annoying yet.
