As we wait for our newest little one to join our family, our baby boy turned six years old last week. I was worried that he would end up having to share his birthday, but he’ll get to keep his own special day!
It feels bittersweet to watch him grow up, and I have to wonder what it will be like when he is no longer the baby in our family. I imagine that he’ll always be our hilariously random, innocent, sweet, fun-loving little guy. I am really looking forward to seeing him in his new role as big brother. When he was asked about the baby on his birthday, he said baby’s arrival “would be an awesome present.”
He was very excited about this year’s interview and included A LOT of fun information. I always love to see what is relevant to their active little minds when I’m interviewing them:
- Favorite color: Green
- Favorite toy: LEGO
- Favorite thing about his brother: “He plays soccer, and I do, too.”
- Favorite TV show or movie: Phineas and Ferb
- Favorite food: Sushi, chili, hamburger, spaghetti, French fries
- Favorite outfit: New clothes [Clearly the result of being the second child and having lots of hand-me-downs…]
- Favorite sport: Soccer
- Place he wants to visit for vacation: New York City
- Favorite animal: Turtle, lizard, dog especially, chipmunk, octopus, panda, elephant, owl
- Favorite song: Spirits (by The Strumbellas)
- Favorite book: Geronimo Stilton
- Best friend: My brother [I love that they each named each other this year, because they are definitely best friends]
- Favorite cereal: New cereal [ok, so perhaps I buy the same cereals over and over and over]
- Favorite drink: Orange juice, grapefruit juice
- Favorite thing to do with friends: Bowling
- What his father does at work: “Tells the guys what to do”
- Something he’s really good at: Soccer and bowling and running and Fundations and drawing
- Favorite ice cream flavor: Mint Chocolate Chip
- Biggest hero: Black Panther [I don’t even know who this is]
- What he wants to be when he grows up: Archeologist
Happy 6th birthday to my baby boy! Please don’t ever change. Very thankful that one of my dear friends grabbed this photo for us since I was too pregnant (=lazy) to take any photos myself.
PS: It looks like I never posted his 5th birthday interview, whoops.
