This warm summer day we spent in Perugia, Italy. Perugia hosts an annual Umbria Jazz festival, and my trip just so happened to fall during this time.
But, first, we went to the Perugina Chocolate Factory, where the Baci chocolate-covered hazelnut kisses are made. You can imagine the kids’ excitement… They were practically bouncing off the wall even before they got to taste the chocolate.
After the chocolate factory visit, we boarded a monorail to ride into the city for lunch and the Jazz festival. You can see this was also a big hit with the kids. They loved pretending that they were driving the train.
If you have a chance, plan a visit to the (mostly free) Umbria Jazz festival. We were only able to enjoy a small part and would love to see more. There are different stages set up in Perugia, street performances and also several events requiring tickets for some big names (The Roots played here this year, which would have been super cool). I think even our youngest traveler really enjoyed the jazz show.
Next week, there’ll be more from my photography tour of Umbria. Stay tuned.
