We spent the morning exploring picturesque Spello first. How gorgeous is this small hillside town?
Our olive oil and wine tasting was fabulous! We learned a lot about different olive oils and wines from the region and were able to sample them all, perfectly paired with delicious bread, pasta and soups.The kids enjoyed their own special pasta and antipasti, coloring and playing tag with each other, while we sampled and chatted. Of course, as always, the food was fresh (figs picked from trees that morning), local and simply prepared to let the local ingredients shine next to the regional wine. And the truffles. So many truffles!
The Italians know their olives and wines. Next up: A picnic feast after a hike with gorgeous views. Stay tuned.
